Holy Trinity School is a PreK to 12th-grade school in Winsted, MN, with a proud tradition dating back to 1883. We are an authentically Catholic school that implements a classical education curriculum dedicated to immersing students in the liberal arts and instilling an appreciation for beauty, goodness, and truth. Holy Trinity School provides robust opportunities for students to grow in virtue, participate in athletics and the fine arts, and become strong and confident leaders who find fulfillment in serving others. As our Educational Philosophy Statement states, “Holy Trinity educates its students through academic inquiry, the pursuit of knowledge, and the development of critical thinking.”
As a proud parish school, we seek to prepare students for their God-given vocation in life fully and, ultimately, to prepare them for their eternal vocation of union with God and His family in heaven. Holy Trinity School is a regional school with its campus located in the heart of the Winsted community. Our school’s strong reputation for academic excellence draws students from many surrounding communities. The elementary and high school buildings are across the street from Holy Trinity Catholic Church, which fosters a family atmosphere among students, staff, and parish members.
Affordability – Holy Trinity School is strongly committed to remaining an affordable choice for Catholic and classical education. To help keep our tuition rates low, Holy Trinity School is generously supported by the parishioners of Holy Trinity Church and fundraisers such as the Marathon for Nonpublic Education, our Annual Spring Fling Dinner Auction, the Winstock Country Music Festival, and many personal donations from alumni, friends, and local businesses. We also offer scholarships and financial aid for qualifying families. Holy Trinity School works with a third-party company, TADS, where parents can fill out a financial aid application. We never want finances to get in the way of any student receiving the best education, so every effort is made to assist families with their financial needs.
Community and communication – Holy Trinity School offers a vibrant community for families, students, and staff. Between weekly newsletters, school events, and communication from faculty and staff, parents always know what is happening inside and outside the classroom. Generous donations have equipped our school with interactive whiteboards for every classroom and technological tools like iPads and Chromebooks, so each student is equipped to complete their academic assignments as needed. Our 12:1 student-to-faculty ratio ensures that every student’s academic needs are met with the utmost care and attention.
Catholic tradition – As an authentically Catholic school, we offer daily Mass every Tuesday-Friday, weekly reconciliation opportunities, and an in-school adoration chapel for all students and staff to access at all times. Holy Trinity School is fully committed to forming students in the Catholic faith and offers daily opportunities for students to grow and pray.
Sports and activities – Every student is encouraged to join extracurricular programs. Holy Trinity has a high school girls’ volleyball team. For other sports, Holy Trinity has a cooperative agreement with Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Public School that offers football, soccer, golf, baseball, softball, basketball, cross country, track, gymnastics, wrestling, cheerleading, and trap shooting. Additionally, the school offers co-curricular activities, such as band, choir, Honor Society, Student Council, Year Book, and intramural sports.
